About Us

In November of 2024, I attended a virtual event hosted by Red, Wine & Blue to hear a Heather Cox Richardson talk. After that talk, I explored the possibility of starting a local grassroots group through their support/training program, TroubleNation. It was clear that we were on the brink of authoritarianism and total destruction of our fragile democracy.

On January 8, 2025, Defending Democracy in Hampden County began. Members started joining! We got together and started organizing, and now we have grown into an established organization with hundreds of members!

I am so proud of what we have accomplished and continue to accomplish, together.

We will continue to fight for our democracy and our rights!

Our towns include Springfield, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Hampden, Holyoke, Monson, Westfield, Agawam, West Springfield and Chicopee!
